Product Description

Product Description

"Speaking from the Heart" presents the teachings of a woman of compassion, humour and extraordinary psychic gifts, who helped many people enjoy happier lives by helping them integrate their own previous life experiences and introducing them to her vigorous brand of ethics. By turns poetic, inspirational, down-to-earth, funny and wise, Joan Grant was never conventional and was always ready to help others. From records of early experiments with psychometry in the British Museum, to transcriptions of 'high level recordings' received during the Second World War, Grant's writings are the fruits of experience gathered over many lifetimes.

About the Author

Joan Grant became aware as a child of her gift of 'far memory' - an ability to recall in detail previous incarnations, both male and female, in other centuries and other lands. The first of her 'novels', Winged Pharaoh, was in instant bestseller, and all of her seven historical novels have been highly praised for their extraordinary vividness and richly diverting detail.

A disappointment 9 Jan 2010
By Lord P
Format:Hardcover
I have read numerous of Joan Grant's books, her novels and autobiographies, and have enjoyed every one. She is an extraordinary and insightful woman.
This work, edited by her grand-daughter and friends, consists of previously unpublished material they discovered after her death.
There are a few gems, but some of the chapters were virtually incomprehensible to me and I found myself wondering if Joan Grant herself would have approved
of publishing some of these scribblings; I suspect not. She seems less coherent than in her other works and maybe much of
it was unpublished because it did not deserve to be published. I was particularly disappointed by the reincarnation content.
However, I heartily recommend her other books.

For the enthusiast 25 Sep 2008
By Charles - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This collection of unpublished notes and journal entries from Joan Grant is essential for anyone that has read Joan's Far Memory novels. However, I recommend her autobiography "Far Memory" and her essay collection "Many Lifetimes" first before reading this book.

While this books provides some further background to Joan's life, experiences, and thoughts, some of the thoughts and essays have an unfinished feel to them.

One thing that really threw me for a loop was when Joan announced that she no longer believed that there was such a place as Atlantis. That would contradict specific parts of "Winged Pharaoh" and "Life as Carola." It was hard to know what to make of it. It wasn't until I read "Initiation" by Elisabeth Haich that I was again convinced in the reality of Atlantis (Haich's book has a wealth of info on Atlantis).

As a matter of fact, Joan mentions that she was working on a Far Memory novel that she thought was set in Atlantis, but became convinced took place in South America. I wonder if we will ever get a look at that novel.

At any rate, much thanks to the authors for putting together a further collection from this wondrous woman.

Speaking from the Heart 5 Nov 2009
By Elise McCune - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
'Speaking from the Heart' a selection of unpublished writings by Joan Grant and edited by Nicola Bennett, Jane Lahr and Sophia Rosoff is a book that is a success on every level; spiritual, practical and clarity of writing. I first discovered the writings of Joan Grant nearly thirty years ago when I read her autobiography titled 'Far Memory' and her 'Far Memory' novels based on her ability to recall earlier lives. The strength of Joan's spirit shines through 'Speaking from the Heart' and includes descriptions of her Edwardian childhood, the discovery of her unique gifts in recalling past lives, psychometry and her personal ethics for living. The book gives the reader a clear, richly evocative description of past life regression work, the supra physical and death and contains the wisdom of many lifetimes. Joan Grant was a woman of great compassion, humour, and unique psychic ability, a woman I did not meet in this lifetime and certainly hope to meet in my next lifetime. I highly recommend 'Speaking from the Heart' and I'm sure that when you finish reading you will want to discover more about this remarkable woman and the gifts she has left us in all of her other books. Speaking From the Heart 13 May 2009
By Jack Styger - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
For me to have and read this book is a natural. I enjoyed her "far memory" books decades ago and I did write to her in 1976 and got a reply from her husband Denys Kelsey. It's really amazing but I can't say I agree with all of her opinions all the time. She would be, and somehow is, a wonderful friend and so I probably knew her before ~ in another life.
