I first read this story at my local library as a yellow hard back Gollanz book, it's great to be able to get Philip E High's books as Kindle novels.
It works well as a Kindle version of the original book.
Personally I think this title is probably one of the weaker of High's later stories but I still enjoyed it and there is a Quatermass like feel to the "Strain" and "Print" conflict.
Philip E High plots tend to be somewhat similar, catastrophic event causes superhuman powers to develop, man meets perfect soulmate, alien menace conquered... despite this and the fact that some of the technology/attitudes feel a little dated now, they are never less than readable and he always manages to have a memorable phrase or idea that sticks in the mind for years. I have carried the "Yend terror Weapon" in my head for decades and was so pleased to be able to re read "Fugitive from Time" after all this time on my Kindle.
I look forward to more out of print novels from the Gollanz stable becoming available on Kindle.
