Format: MP3 Download
This might sound like heresy . but I think, sometimes Ella's upscale peformances are a bit overcooked. Yet behind it all there's always this live-in warmth and humour. This kind of setting is its apotheosis , and you get to hear how pitch-perfectly empathic her phrasing can be. This is emotion recollected in sunny tranquillity. Joe Pass is the first great expressive master of electric guitar I think, before Pat Metheny.
