I started a Spanish GCSE evening class in September and we were all told to buy this book. I wish I hadn't. It's one of those tiresome, patronising books that attempts to make foreign languages interesting for teenagers, and fails. I know I'm of a different generation to the target audience, but this book is such hard going, and it's so hard to look up grammar points, and the vocabulary is no help, and it's laid out so illogically, that I honestly couldn't recommend it.

I was disappointed with this book-it introduces far too many things at once and at too high a level -even for an experienced language speaker (which I am, I wanted to use this for teaching)there are things in that you can't look up in the text extracts-i.e. you would actually have to live in Spain or be a native speaker to recognise some of the idiomatic expressions.There is a lot of good vocabulary and the book has some good visual material but the level somehow is pitched wrong it's both too advanced and doesn't have enough basic information. I would not recommend it.
