Personal and Perfect 26 Oct 2007
By Mrs. K. A. Wheatley TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
I bought this book after going to a poetry reading where Rollinson was performing. I'd never seen or heard him before and didn't know what to expect. I immediately went out afterwards and bought this book. His voice is passionate and intensely personal, sometimes to the point where he can bring a blush to your cheek. He doesn't shy away from the erotic, but manages to blend it perfectly with humour and the pragmatic events of every day to make these poems you can connect with, that talk to you and which can be instantly meaningful. Great use of language and a real ability to write about humanity in all its grubbiness with great affection. buy this book, and if you get a chance, go and see him perform.

Never have I read sensuality so pure in form, so insistent & persistent, so tender yet so rough. Rollinson's previous book, A Spillage of Mercury was enough to make you ache and this is a very worthy follow up...Spread the word!
