About the Author
MARIO BATALI went to high school in Spain, learned "how to eat and drink" there, and runs two Spanish restaurants in New York City. According to Fortune Magazine, Mario is one of the 100 "most recognized personalities in the US" and according to Gwyneth Paltrow, a bigger star in the United States than herself. GWYNETH PALTROW is an Academy Award-winning actress. She went to high school in Spain, fell in love with the country, and has been officially adopted by Talavera de la Reina, a region of Castilla La Mancha. This is her first television series. She is working on two films: "Dirty Tricks" with Brad Pitt, Sharon Stone and Meryl Streep and "Iron Man" with Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, and Jeff Bridges. MARK BITTMAN is "The Minimalist" columnist of the New York Times and reigns as one of the most influential food and travel journalists in America today. CLAUDIA BASSOLS is a Spanish actress, educated in the U.S. (California and New York), and has starred in several Spanish television shows.

I watched the series on Uk Food and wanted to get it on DVD. As it doesn't appear to be available I had to buy the book. The book and the series were just a really pleasant, down to earth account of how enjoyable Spain can be. It covered areas that we hadn't been to that we must do now, but also places that we have enjoyed over the years. The recipes are excelleent.
Overall if you love the Spanish way of life as I do then the book is an absolute must.

What a great book even if you have not seen the TV series. Fabulous photographs and not too complicated recipes. A delightful mix of travelogue and cookbook.

Absolutley fantastic book, much larger than expected. Wonderful photagraphs. If you love Spain you will really enjoy this book.Overall an excellent buy.
