I remember seeing this movie on a late night showing on ITV in the late 80's and I got to say it caught my interest. Over the years I taped it on VHS, watched for a few months then taped over it, then taped it again and so on and so on. So in the end I purchased it on DVD and was impressed with the overall content and better picture quality than my old VHS copies. The story is simple one, a guy goes to rescue a bunch of bimbo's for a bunch of money from a bunch of bad guys, makes friends with a teenage girl, through out the movie they fight and eventually bond. The guy meets an old friend, who both sell each other out a few times then remain best of buddies, the bimbos are saved and all ends happily. This movie is like a future version of Mad Max, all the machinery has been repaired a thousand times an things need to be kicked a few times to work. Peter Strauss pulls of a likeable, sarcastic and unusual hero/bountyhunter and Molly plays an excellent teenage girl, full of angst, and both work well together, bonding into loose father and daughter unit. The best part of this movie is the excellently cast Micheal Ironside as Overdog, one of the best movie bad guys of all history. To sum up, a great early 80's movie, dated now but still looks good after all this time. Take a look and see what we were watching in the 80's.
