This is the debut album from London based Japanese pianist Taeko Kunishima. Classically trained in Tokyo, she settled in the UK to further her playing and compositional studies. This album, produced by leading jazz pianist Nick Weldon, explores her composing skills within a jazz context. Her music is a rich mixture of classical / traditional Japanese folk and European jazz influences.
