Fun:
I used to play the original Space Invaders when it first appeared in the arcades way back in 1978 and, over the years, have played a great many incarnations of this classic - however, none have lived up to the addictive simplicity of the original game.
Space Invaders Extreme does though manage to successfully update the original and it's one of the few updates that actually works extremely well. I'm really impressed by Space Invaders Extreme and would heartily recommend it to players both young and old - even if you hated the original you'll love this!

Fun:
What an excellent update for a very nostalgic game - used to play this in the glass coffee tables in our local pub and before that on its own dedicated arcade machine. The graphics and sounds for this DS port are excellent. Both parts of the screen are used and there are bosses at the end of each section. The clarity and movement on screen makes it a joy to play and the authentic-type sounds are just perfect.
There are three modes 'Arcade' 'Ranking' 'Multiplayer'. On 'Arcade' which is the only one I've tried so far, there are lots of little quirky upgrades to your gun and plenty to do. Only purchased this today and am totally addicted. Well worth every penny and highly recommend.

Fun:
I brought this game for my other half at Christmas. Now it's the end of September and I still haven't had a look in and he is still playing it - even on the toilet! From this I can only assume that it is a great game to play. I know he is almost desparate to beat 'The Boss'. Watching over his shoulder it certainly looks very good - but I suggest that you buy your own copy as people don't seem to want to share this one!

short term fun
This game has a contemporary facelift on an old classic. Same concept, shoot as many aliens as possible. Numbs the thumbs after half an hour, but fun and engaging for that time.
