I've read all of Chris Manby's novels, and bought this without a second thought. I couldn't get beyond the first few chapters of it though, I just kept thinking that although it was tongue in cheek, and fairly well written, I just felt it wasn't that original a concept, totally unrealistic and that the whole reality tv star concept has been done to death.
I felt this had been written to have mass market appeal, whereas I really wish Chris Manby would go back to her earlier style where she wrote insightfully about more "normal" people and relationships. I really enjoyed Flatmates, Running away from Richard etc.
Maybe I'm just too old for chick lit now but I think this is the kind of book which will probably appeal to younger readers and Big Brother fans.

This is only the second Chris Manby book that I have read and I have already got another of hers lined up. I love a story with characters that you can't get to the bottom of straight away and a plot that has to be read as it can't be guessed. Spa Wars is certainly good for both of those. Thoroughly recommend, now I'm off to start 'Getting Personal' (also by CM)

I am a fan of Chris Manby after discovering her only last year and have read most of her books now. I have to admit, I bought this book a year ago simply because it was a Chris Manby novel that I hadn't yet read, and I put it in the cupboard until now because I just didn't like the look of it! But when I actually got round to reading it, I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend. It was a good quick read - read it in a day - and although it wasn't the usual Chris Manby type of material, I am giving it 5 stars to counteract the more negative reviews here.

Boring!!!
After two chapters you know whats going to happen. Nothing gripping or interesting, just handbag wars. I finished it thinking it might get better but it doesnt. Not worth buying.

this book is great for a sunny day in your garden. however it does lack the comedy and wit from previous books such as running away from richard and flatmates. Read more

Not her best book - but still worth reading
I found this book a bit different from her other books. It was a good read, but I prefer some of her earlier books.
