We bought this as a present for our 6 year old girl's birthday. She was so excited she wanted to unpack it straight away. Inside were three packets of seeds, three little plant pots made from coconut husks, and three strange looking circular tablets which you place inside the pots, dampen with water and - hey presto! - you have potting compost! Amazing! The kids loved putting the seeds in the pots and then making the little markers to pop into the soil to remind you what you're growing. You make the markers by cutting out some lovely little pictures and sticking them onto the sticks provided. There's a clear set of instructions with some games to play on the reverse side (wordsearch, maze, dot-to-dot etc) which are printed in tiny writing but with an adults help will entertain a child for a little while. The leaflet also doubles up as in information leaflet, with some facts and figures about butterflies and seeds. We only planted our seeds today, so it remains to be seen whether we grow any plants or not, but even if the crop fails we had a lovely time this afternoon planting them! If your child is the next Alan Titchmarsh, we'd recommend this kit.
