This is an excellent pocket guide to take with you on an African safari trip, for easy identification of mammals and getting some basic information on them.

The book is divided into several categories, such as carnivores, antelopes, etc. and every animal has a small profile drawing, a picture or two, a map of Africa showing where the animal can be found, and some basic info on the nimal's background, behaviour, feeding...

Overall the pocket format works well and the amount of information is ideal for a voyage but you will likely be interested in more afterwards - for that you will need to look elsewhere.
