3.0 out of 5 stars South East Asia: Diversity and Development 9 Sep 2002
I bought this book thinking it would be essential for my university course on South East Asia as a region, and the book does provide good analysis of the developmental history of each of the nations of South East Asia, with generally a chapter devoted to each country. However, as my course involved more than just a developmental context, the rest of the book fell a bit short of my expectations, with only one chapter devoted to subjects like the historical context of the region, or broad overviews on agricultural or industrial development.
If a broad overview is of development issues in South East Asia is what you're looking for, then this should be a fine starting point, and it does contain loits of relevant points, but if you want to take any of the points, or countries further, then you will have to read a wider range of texts
