If you go on you tube and look at Herb Alpert you'll find several promo's filmed at bull fights, not the sort of thing you would do to promote a album today, however this is not today, this is the mid 60s.
This cd opens with the title track,South of the Border, down Mexico way.A really good uptempo instrumental, next a good cover of The Girl From Ipanema,Hello Dolly is up next, one of the few vocal tracks on the album.Up cherry street and Mexican Shuffle are another two uptempo numbers, there is one Beatles cover on this cd,All My Loving. The other six tracks are not so well known, but still add to the listening pleasure.
I own two of these reissues
Going Placesbeing the other.Although I was just a baby when these were released they are as good as any other pop lps of the time,BUY THEM NOW.
