In addition, other relevant sources including the tithe applotment books, Griffith's valuation, British parliamentary papers, the Encumbered estates records, travellers' accounts, newspapers and those stored in the Registry of deeds are afforded attention. Advice is provided throughout as to the problems and possibilities which face the historian in researching the history of an Irish estate in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
