I can't imagine a world without books. My nose was, as my grandmother put it, "always in a book". Reading transported me from my small town to the far corners of the world. Baseball players, pirates and presidents were my companions.

Reading has opened a wide world of interests for me. I enjoy cooking, traveling, exploring nature, gardening and learning new things. All of these interests and many more are cultivated by reading and experience.

I enjoy writing about people, places and things that interest me. Writing lets me share my knowledge and experience. It can be a somewhat difficult process but in the end it is well worth the effort.

The Simply Delicious Cookbook series focuses on easy to prepare foods. All of the books in this series teach the reader how to prepare good tasting yet simple to make food.

The Awesome Animal Facts series is all about introducing kids to the fascinating and awesome world of animals. Each book concentrates on a different animal. Basic knowledge, interesting facts and photos are combined into a book that I hope children and adults enjoy.

Soups are just one of my favourite foods... easy to prepare and massively nutritious too.

Mine are tame in comparison to Royce's. He clearly has a passion for them too. I also love the idea of having soups at different times of the day... The Maryland Crab Soup will be my first foray into American soups, followed by Shrimp... (you get the idea!).

A must in your kitchen!

You wont find any exotic ingredients here, this recipe book uses seasonings that most households already have. Nicely laid out directions that are easy to understand. Very practical and useful for our house.

I love soups, especially during the winter months. This book really delivers on fast, easy and scrumptious soups. My daughter is sometimes a picky eater and doesn't like potato soup. We made the recipe Dad's potato soup and she loved it and couldn't get enough. Thanks Mr. Anderson for creating this cookbook with such delicious soup recipes.

A delicious collection of over 30 soups that are simple and healthy, this book is another cookbook I will be adding to my digital collection. Starting with the basic chicken and beef stocks, the author covers a wide variety of soups and stews. Everything from the soothing tomato soup to soups that I've never heard of (but can't wait to try) such as Mulligatawny Soup.

Mr. Anderson also gives you added information to help you if you are concerned about your diet. The nutrition facts, based on the recipe, are provided at the end of each recipe, giving you serving size and details such as calories, calories from fat, total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, total carbs and protein. Not only are you having a wholesome meal, but if you are trying to watch your diet, so to speak, you have the information you need to do so.

I have accumulated a ton of recipes lately and am excited to add these to my collection. With it being in the cooler months, soups, stews and warm dishes are in great demand at present. Again, I highly recommend adding this cookbook to your e-cook book (digital) collection. I've even printed off some to add to my paper "collection"!

Royce Anderson has put together a collection of homemade soups that is one of the strongest books of its kind. He arranges them into Spur of the Moment Soups (ready to eat in 30 minutes or less), Everyday Soups (take less than 60 minutes to prepare), and Sunday Afternoon Soups (take between 1 to 4 hours to make). Knowing that stocks are the core of all soups the book opens with how to prepare both chicken and beef stock.

The recipes are well designed to read easily, keep the cook organized, and allow tips on preparation that makes the soups close to foolproof! In the Spur of the Moment Soups we find Curried Carrot Soup, Avgolemono Soup, Maryland Crab Soup, Tomato Soup Spicy Chicken Soup and Chicken Stock Leftovers Soup. WOW! I love soup. Where else can you find food that tastes so good, is really nutritious, and is easy to make? Also, you can usually freeze soup, so you can make mega batches and have it for a long time.

These recipes seem delicious, and you can tell from the ingredients that they are very good for you to eat. The author has also given extensive information about calories per serving, carbs, fat, protein, etc. Personally, I can't wait to try these!
