i have all the other books and wondered whether or not i would use this one, the answer is yes and in case you are wondering the recipes are pretty close to the cartons in the shops only better and cheaper.the first two ive tried are the smoked ham chowder and the tomato (kids) soup and they are pretty good. well worth the fourth investment in this series.

I am a soup enthusiast and obtain my inspiration for soup making from the New Covent Garden Soup series as they all contain superb recipes which take into account seasonal availability of vegetables. This latest book in the series is no exception and has a good mix of recipes for everyday meals as well as innovative recipes for dinner parties.

There a lot of soup books out there but the range of new covent garden ones are by far and away the best. I think their secret is that as they are in the business of making great soups, all recipes are tested and trialled as part of their business and not just for the sake of writing a book. I have the other 3 books and all are different, with not one poor recipe yet. This one links to the occasions that you can eat soup. Its pumpkin season at the moment and the halloween soup recipes are great. It doesn't have any pictures of the finished recipe but I think that its not needed when it comes to soup. Its going to be a few peoples christmas presents this year.
