5.0 out of 5 stars Soup bible fantastic 8 Jun 2000
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
I have only recently just bought my copy of the soup bible, and believe me if you like making fresh soup rather than having it out of a can then this is the one for you. The recipes are fantastic and easy to follow with great colour photos that are very helpful and certainly whet the appetite.

Whats more all the techniques are explained step by step and all recipes use fresh ingredients which makes for wonderful soup.

Love soup, love this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Updated version 21 Jun 2008
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Previously owned the 1999 edition, which I did not find as inspiring as the 2007 revised version. This is an excellent book, beautifully produced. The photography is absolutely superb - a joy to see. I now have a list of about 50 soups to make!! Best soup book on the market, by a long way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 3 April 2005
Format:Hardcover
I purchased this book with some reservation, wasn't sure which soup book to choose as there are so many, well I wasn't disappointed. This book is full of amazing recipes which are easy to follow and with great illustrations. Impressed many a guest from this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soup, glorious soup! 1 Mar 2005
Format:Paperback
This is a fascinating book, full of interesting ideas- it's so far above the level of "boil up a few veg & run them thru the liquidiser" that altitude sickness could be a hazard... For on thing, the author is in favour of textural interest in soup, and while she advocates liquidising carrot & coriander, for instance, she wants pork & pickled mustard greens left as nature intended. These recipes respond well to being amended as availability or otherwise of ingredients dictates, always the sign of a good cookbook.

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant! 26 Jan 2009
Format:Hardcover
My Gran bought me and my partner this as a present in the summer of 07 and its been used on average about once a week since then. It never fails. I honestly haven't had a bad recipe from it. The one time we strayed away and used a different book we got a watery mess of a pumpkin soup. Not nice.

Worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the time and money 3 Mar 2009
Format:Paperback
I bought this book a couple of years ago, and never tire of using it. I am personally responsible for maybe a dozen sales - so many friends who I've cooked soup for have asked me about the book and then bought their own copy. Lots of wonderful recipes, clear instructions, great photos, and some delicious soup at the end of it.

Brilliant, easy recipes, haven't had a failure with this 'souper' book! Great illustrations, very clear and easy to follow instructions. Good for dieters who want something satisying and long lasting, without the sin.
