Bought this mixer a long time ago to get me started on the long road of DJ'ing, and haven't regretted it. I bought it for 50 quid, brand new and sealed, which was a 50% discount from the RRP of 100 pounds (apprently.. but I did check on the net).
When you start off DJ'ing, their is little point in forking out for flashy exspensive mixers - most of your budget should be spent on good quality decks. This mixer is perfect for anyone starting to DJ, or who wants the 'next stage up'. It features kill buttons for all the EQ's across the 2 channels, meaning that you can mute out that frequency in question (i.e get rid off the bass for smooth beat-matching). Their is a microphone input which works well, and has a talk over switch. At the top of the console is an LED display which shows the power of your output in D.B - very handy!
The best feature for me however is the 'Cue mix' fader. This basically allows you to beat-match without the annoyance of having your cued track in one ear, and the speakers in the other ear. Instead, you can mix both tracks through your headphones for accuracy. This then allows you to develop your beat-matching when you buy more proffessional mixers that don't have this feature.
Only one quibble - the headphone socket is on top of the console, near the EQ's and Cue Volume knob. If you have a long headphone cable, consider using a pipe cleaner to keep it tidy and out of the way!
Overall, I highly recommend this mixer. You could pay over 100 pounds more just to have the EQ Kill buttons on a nig named mixer, so for the price you see this in the shops, it's a steal!
