Product Description

How would you like to feel excited about your life again? And if that's not enough, how would you like to be more successful and high-achieving? That's what soultrading is all about - having a personal strategy that you really buy into.

Soultrader

is a down-to-earth guide to getting to know yourself properly from the inside. It is a combination of "rough guide to your real self" and career path, with an underpinning of practical soultrading exercises. Based around key career events e.g. your first job, getting noticed, setting career priorities, navigating the politics, getting promoted, building a network, going it alone and building a market reputation, Soultrader shows how and why soul is the foundation for your success.

Your soul can help you figure out what you want to be when you grow up. Much more than the boss ever could.

  • Presents the compelling idea of getting excited about your life and work again
  • Everybody, especially in a downturn, needs to know how to differentiate themselves from other people – who you are at soul level is the biggest differentiator there is
  • Considers every stage of the career path - and offers the would-be soultrader a grounded guide for immediate results
  • Guides you in practical, everyday situations when you need it most – such as deciding on a new career direction

Soultrader asks you to examine and redefine your perception of a "career". A career being not just something you simply do for someone else in order to get money to live but as activities which embody and define who you are, your passions and your dreams. By doing something you love you are able to invest more into it and so logically have a much better chance of success. A soultrader.

Through highly inspirational , and motivational content soultrader urges you to look at yourself and your situation and define what you really want from life. To believe in your potential, that is possible to achieve what you want and then summon up the courage to take the (fearsome) steps needed to start moving towards your destiny. Soultrader is not simply full of hype and empty promises. The book contains very practical and worthwhile exercises to help you. These exercises help you to define, formulate and clarify your own dreams, thoughts and ideas into practical and workable plans which can help lead you towards becoming a soultrader i.e. Chapter Six "12 Day Life Purpose Plan" The style of this book is humorous and easy to read and above all down to earth honest; taking control of your life and your career will be tough and require hard work , discipline and determination. Not recommended for people who are looking for a comfortable and easy ride.

Chapter Five describes and captures very well some important issues and the zeitgeist that I suspect many people are feeling as a result of Globalisation, the burst Internet Bubble, 9/11 and the current global economic downturn. It offers an alternative and positive perspective.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Yesterday I resigned from my job. I admit I had been dissatisfied at my job for a long time but through reading this inspirational and thought provoking book at the right time it really helped me to make some important decisions and set me on a new path. I don't know exactly where it will lead but to quote:
"I am in control of my life , I am responsible , I choose to be on the right path"

Excellent excercises 18 Jan 2010
By KNine
Format:Paperback
The small number of reviews for a seven year old book kept my expectations low for this. A few pages in and I thought those expectations were going to be met. It seemed to offer the same useless flaw of so many a self help book that over promises and under delivers - making the same simple point over and over again without ever giving you anything really insightful or practical.

But then it turned into a cracking book. The excersises are genuinely imaginative and useful. The writing style, that grates at first, suddenly starts making you feel that you've got a quality coach working for you when you realise there is real substance here.

The only reason I did'nt give it five stars is that it ends quite abrubtly. It could have been an even better book if there had been more refrences to other resources. The book is inspring, the results of the excersises are inspiring, so it would have been nice for there to be recommendations of where to go to get practical help on acting on that inspiration.

If you're looking for purpose this book will help you get closer to it. Definatelty worth reading.

I liked this! Soultrader gets you in front of some almost taboo big life questions, with helpful, down to earth advice. Very useful if you need to figure out what might be happening with your career or if you feel a bit unsure of direction. I have lent it to a friend who isn't sure if she is in the right job and trying to make a big decision. Working through some of the exercises meant I got some new ideas. So - inspiring stuff - I liked the idea that your purpose is to be happy! Tell my manager.
