Defected have done it again! Earning their name as one of the most respected soulful house labels they follow on with a quality uplifting release in their 'In The House' series. Yes we've seen the likes of the Suave Dimitri from Paris and one half of Masters at Work - Kenny 'Dope' Gonzalez but now it's the turn of Soulfuric.
The first 2 CDs are mixed by label founder Brian Tappert and DJ producer John Julius Knight, whilst the Limited Edition CD3 contains a bonus compilation of 10 classic Soulfuric moments. There are some beautiful melodious tracks with soul house elements running throughout. Featuring mixes of some absolute classics such as MAW 'To be in Love' and MAW featuring India 'I can't get no Sleep' as well as other firm favourites like Danny Krivit edit of DJ Jorj 'Brazil Horns'.It is mixed perfectly, but maintains a live mix feeling which so many other labels seem to have lost. The Limited edition CD3 continues the high standard with Soulsearchers 'Feelin' Love' and Find A Friend by DJ John 'Julius' Knight being two of my firm favourites.
Well done Soulfuric, well done defected, this will stay in my car for many months to come.

I must admit, this is a must buy for all those who like their house & garage soulful, uplifting, with searing vocals & funky. The mixing is spot on & there is a good selection of tunes on all 3 CD's in this box set. To be honest, I have bought a few box sets released by the defected label & this 1 just dont dissapoint, trust me. The first 2 cd's are in the mix & the last 1 is unmixed but different from the first 2. To wrap-up, this album is only for house music 'connoisseurs' who like it uplifting, gospel infused, with searing vocals, soulful & funky.............NUFF SAID!!!!

This is an old compilation that was actually released in 2002 and not 2008.

Amazon UK are trying to shift an old album as new.

Shame on them.

Leave your "skip track" button behind 13 Feb. 2005
By C. Stevens - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I have to agree with all of the reviews on here, this mix is hot. It's great for: running through mountain trails, driving to work, pre & post funkin, lifting weights, and writing reviews on here (I'm listening to it as I type). I haven't decided which disc is my favorite, and maybe I really don't have to. It's nice to have music to put on that you don't have to skip around to find the few treasured songs. My favs are definitely "resist" from disc 1 (the beats melt you) and solymos/i get deep & the light from disc 2. Tons of lush vocals, but also good spoken word, latin instrumentation, and some pure deep house.

PUT IT ON AND LET IT PLAY!!!!! 12 April 2005
By A. Baynes - Published on Amazon.com

Here is one of the very reasons to buy a CD this expensive! This one is definately worth the price of admission to this banging, slamming almost heart shattering club experience. There is no reason to stop listening to these driving beats other than to catch your breath. These two DJ's really put it down with their jazzy, latin and african mixed beats. A must have for any house collection.

With CD's like this, who needs to go to a club? But there are only 2 in this package

Soulfuric IS in the House!!!!!!! 29 Dec. 2004
By Reginald Davenport - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I received this package in the mail yesterday and began to play it nonstop - I finally stopped playing the CDs in order to get to sleep. But as Track One, CD 2 starts: "I Can't Get No Sleep".

This is an excellent blend of the old and the new; but of course in House Music the old and the new always work together. Old tracks-"Thousand Finger Man" and "The Boss". New tracks-"Bulo" and "Nekoosa". Oh, but there are still some not quite old/not quite new tracks added for good measure. The most pleasing surprise for me, personally, came in Track Nine, CD 2: Help "Me Out". I've spun records with these guys in the past and they always had a knack for churning out unique recordings. Another favorite of mine (and possible half the planet) is Track Two, CD 1, "Back Together". This is what I call a future timeless classic.

Soulfuric is one of my favorite record labels; after giving this a listen it may be a favorite of yours, too!

A Gem! 3 Aug. 2004
By believe_in_ - Published on Amazon.com

Get this one, especially for the Braxton's "The Boss" remixed by MAW, one of the greatest house mixes and singles . . . ever. Also, I really enjoyed the "flow" of the CD. Excellent music selections covering several genres including disco, soul, funk, house, garage, etc. are all seamlessly intertwined to provide a coherent, groovy deep house experience. Many dance clubs would have an epic night if they replaced, if only for one night, the use of a DMX machine or something of the like, and simply played this little piece of heaven instead.

My current favorite ItH. 23 Jan. 2005
By Shawn Maxon - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
This is really good stuff people. My favorite ItH so far. All the right elements are here, jazz, disco, and r&b. A near perfect deep house cocktail. The track selection is choice. My favorite is Roland Clark's 'Resist'. It has a political message that really speaks to me. Very listenable, deep house at it's finest.
