HASH(0x90662f6c) out of 5 stars Coming from a rabid D. Johnson fan, plays are not his forte. 20 Feb. 2013

So if you're into plays, there are many contemporary playwrights out there that deserve to be given precedence over Johnson.

That being said, the plays are still Denis-Johnson witty and reward the reader with intelligent pages, but fall short of making an overall impression.

The plays in this book feature a couple introduced in Shoppers: Two Plays, a family ,and a talking-TV, among others.
