My favourite singer, so I am slightly biased. Well researched it delves deeply into his life and music for example, being ripped off by Don Robey the Duke record label owner ( Bobby didn't seem bitter about that at all) and does not shy away from his troubles with alcohol and illiteracy. In the end you realise what a triumph his life was despite those handicaps. His music conquers all.
A major figure in Black Music history, up there with James Brown, Marvin Gaye and Bobby Womack ( when is someone going to write a decent biog. about him)?
