Not one of the best YA romance books I've read, but a worthwhile read nonetheless. On the downside, some of the dialogue seems shallow and unconvincing, and the book is in need of a proofreader, but overall the story is compelling and enjoyable. I did like that the end wasn't what you'd expect from a 'typical' romance book, and I was left yearning to know what happened with Jenna and Gabe in the years that followed.
I think the book could have benefited from being longer, with more time being spent on dialogue and letting things develop at a slower pace. Some parts feel rushed and dealt with in a superficial way, as if the author couldn't, or didn't want to, give them more attention. But of course it's aimed at younger readers who perhaps want things to happen more quickly. As an older reader I finished this in an afternoon.
