5.0 out of 5 stars Spartoi's first mission 13 July 2014

With Soul now a Death Weapon, he and Maka begin training in his new abilities but the forces action against DWMA are beginning to move. Noah and his group continue their search for the Kishin and set their sights on Maka's powerful Soul Perception ability. Meanwhile Medusa continues her experiments into madness, causing trouble for the rest of the newly formed Spartoi.

This sixteenth volume of the 'Soul Eater' manga continues the brilliant series very well with some very nice action and some very good artwork. The two battles in this volume are both very good with Maka and Souls' fist fight as a Death Weapon being the best of the pair. The other battle, Kilik's team vs one of Medusa's experiments is also very good and shows how powerful the Spartoi students have become. There is some humour in the volume as well with Patty still being one of the funniest characters in the series. The plot doesn't see much in the way of advancement but we do discover some of Medusa's goals and find out what has happened to Death the Kid. The volume also ends on a very good cliff-hanger.

The volume also includes a silly bonus comic and some translation notes.

This was another very good volume of 'Soul Eater' and it is well worth a full five stars.

Soul Eater is amazing. It has a unique art style that I haven't seen before and it works extremely well. The characters are ostentatious and surprisingly funny! The story is interesting and I can see myself getting hooked very quickly!

Came in perfect condition, no nicks or anything! I love this series, and recommend this to everyone!

*A BIT OF A SPOILER AHEAD*

In this volume, you get to see Soul as a Death Scythe for the first time! I was so happy! (I already read the whole manga online, but who doesn't want this amazing book on their shelf anyhow?)
