Product Description

FROM THE STUDIO THAT BROUGHT YOU FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST AND COWBOY BE-BOP Set in the Shinigami technical school for weapon meisters, the series revolves around 3 groups of each a weapon meister and a human weapon. Trying to make the latter a "Death Scythe" and thus fit for use by the Shinigami, they must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and 1 witch. Soul Eater is an anime that centers around meisters and their weapons and their mission to collect 99 evil souls and 1 witch soul. Upon doing that the meister's weapons will become a Deathscythe, which is the highest title for a weapon. Maka, Soul Eater, Black Star, Tsubaki, Death the Kid, and Patty and Liz Thompson are the characters Soul Eater revolves around. Besides taking the time to gather souls these students of Shibusen defend Death City from some of the most powerful of creatures while still attending school and trying to become stronger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant 17 Mar 2011
Format:DVD
While I don't own this box set I have all 4 volumes seperatley and I can honestly say that if you're an anime fan or just getting into anime that this is the series for you.
The artwork may not be as good as the likes of Angel Beats! but it is still good in its own way, the fight scenes are spectacular and the plot is near perfection bar a few bits that just randomly popped up at the end with no explaination into them.

I completely enjoyed watching this series and £[] is a very good price for all 51 episodes seeing as at the likes of hmv you're looking at £25 per volume.

5.0 out of 5 stars Death with a smile! 20 Mar 2011
By Z
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
It's funny, brilliant animation that made me constantly think about how many episodes I had left because I didn't want it to end. If you like Bleach, Naruto, Kiba, Death Note, Claymore, Wolf's Rain, Outlaw Star, Guran Lagann or any such animes, you would be mad not to give it a go. Then again if you don't want 17 straight hours of your life spent watching this series, walk away - scroll up this page and click on something else I am sure you'll 'accidentally' click on this eventually and then you can buy it then :P

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny. But! 18 July 2011
By Mo
Format:DVD
This box set was most certainly worth every penny, as this was cheaper than buying all the volumes individually. The story line is awesome and the comical relief added in does make this an awesome anime. However, this ends on episode 51 and there has been no sign of a second series which may disappoint some who want all the loose ends, tied up. All in all, it was worth it.

2.0 out of 5 stars A curate's egg.
The problem is that a potentially engaging, sombre theme has been badly mishandled by interpolating attempts at infantile "humour". Read more
