After Sizzla embraced a mini return to roots reggae last year with the albums Speak of Jah and Life, he has now returned with a slickly produced r'n'b album renewing his acquaintance with Donovan Vendetta (who was the man behind the Rise to the Occasion album, which represented Sizzla's most eclectic unreggae sounding album to date). Love and tales of lust dominate this album and for those of you who liked Sizzla's previous flirtation with r'n'b in his "light of my world" album you'll love this. Stand out tracks include "Be Strong", "All I Want", "Show me", "Good to know" and "Love you more", where Sizzla's fun falsetto reaches truly stratospheric heights! Other songs to check for on this album include the opening track "Good Morning" with its easygoing guitar sound and uplifting lyrics, whilst the dancehall massive are treated to a hardcore sexually charged treat in the monster tune "Push and Shove" where Sizzla makes his ardour for the gyals felt in no uncertain terms! For those of you who like their roots music purer and undiluted this is not for you. Although bearing in mind Sizzla's super prolific output, you'll probably have less than 3 months to wait for another album from the King of roots and dancehall. Message to Sizzla, please include the excellent "Give Jah Thanks and Praise", "Africa Now" and "See me as your bredrin" on your next album!
