Little did I know a book would change my life,
By shaheen_sayed@yahoo.com (London) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Soul Catcher: A Journal to Help You Become Who You Really Are (Spiral-bound)
Soul Catcher is to the perfect way to give clarity and direction back to your life. This is a journal that leads you to question the experiences of your life and formulate your thoughts and ideas as a response to what you feel on a day to day basis. The book is sectioned into emotions and phases of life, Hate, Anger, Love, Loss, Jealousy and really prompts you to filter through the surplus or redundant feelings you have. I would recommend this to anyone who is in need of clearing out their emotional closet and getting on with the joy of living.

This will become like your soul in a book,
By A Customer
This review is from: Soul Catcher: A Journal to Help You Become Who You Really Are (Spiral-bound)
It is a beautiful book with an inspiring hardcover then inside the pages are held together with a ring binder which I really like. There are several different sections with advice at the beginning of each section and then a lot of questions / prompts and spaces for you to write your answers. It really gets you thinking and working out your mind. Really useful if you are a bit confused about your life, or need to work various things out. The introduction encourages you to rip out pages, cover things up you with paper you dont like and to stick things in. You don't write in it in any order, if you are angry go to the angry section, if you are feeling inspired or have a dream go to the dreams section etc. As a guided journal I definitely recommend it.

I only purchased this a few weeks ago, and as I write this I can only wonder how much different my review will be in a few months.
I bought this book as I have a lot of emotional baggage that I want sorted and binned, stuff that would bore my friends to disucuss and might be painful for my loved ones to hear. A journal, the ideal place for such matters. This book has allowed me to dump all the stuff that's been bothering me right into it's welcoming pages. I've been encouraged to rip pages out, stick stuff in and generally do whatever I need in order to properly express myself. Although I have'nt been able to bring myself to rip anything from the book, I have certainly been filling the pages. Another reviewer described this book as a ring binder - it's not, but if it were it would be even better. It's actually spiral bound in a fully enclosed hard cover. The introduction is a beautiful and honest account of the authors life and explains how self expression helped her overcome her low points. Each page challanges your thoughts on a different emotional issue including: Love, Desire, Jealousy, Rage, Anger etc. And asks you a series of provoking questions to help you identify your personal triggers, how you feel about them and what you can do about it. There's no right or wrong way to go about writing in it. If on a day when you feel happy you want to capture your mood simply turn to that page. The next day your green monster may be in command of you and you might want to tell the book about it on the jealousy page. Some pages give you more room to write than others, and I have taken to using different coloured pens to highlight different entries. There's no dating unless you want to do it. My only complaint about this book is that if you have a particular issue that you want to work on more than others - there is only so much space alotted, which goes back to my earlier comment that if this was a ring binder you could add you own pages. Although there's nothing stopping you sticking some in with a bit of glue. I am already surprising myself with looking back at thoughts I had a few weeks ago. Wondering why I felt like it then and not now. I can't wait to see how it feels to back again when even more time has passed.
