Format:Audio CD
1993 and while Roland Orzabal was releasing "Elemental" Curt Smith released his first solo CD "soul on board"
Tracks "Calling out", "soul on board" and "words" are ok-ish but the rest of the cd is quite poor. Lyrically and vocally this album is struggling.
When you consider that Curts next release was the exceptional Mayfield CD you wonder quite what happened here?
This CD is for TFF fans and collectors only - if you want to see what Curt Smith can do without Roland I strongly suggest you check out the next CD he did under the name Mayfield.

I bought this disc simply because it was Curt Smith. I then read the reviews, well they were all very wrong. I really like it, TFF it's not, but Curt Smith it is. Apparently even he has more or less said that it was just a fill the contract album, impossible. Some of the tracks are exceptional,some are a bit easy listening, but has grown on me and is now a favourite. Buy this if you too lived through the TFF years, and are convinced that it was the best time to be young.

After owning this cd for many years, and after reading the poor reviews I thought I better give my opinion. It's good!!! For a first solo album it's not bad, I have the follow up to this and that is poor with only a couple of good songs where as this cd every song but one is good. So don't be put off by the poor reviews, buy it.
