Humph's fitting epitaph?,

This review is from: I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue 12 (BBC Audio) (Audio CD)
Assuming the Beeb don't release any more of the great man's episode of ISIHAC this collection would be a great way for Chairman Humph to sign out. He is at his peerless best, whether doing his introductory town/city monologues, introducing "...Colin Sell at the piano", describing Lionel Blair's various misadventures or how Samantha's latest gentleman friend is getting on with the delightful scorer. Of course this isn't a one man show and the teams are at their mischievous best with Jeremy Hardy, Sandi Toksvig, Tony Hawkes and the late Linda Smith as guests this time round.
For me the great thing about ISIHAC is the obvious enjoyment of all the participants and the generosity the regulars show towards the guests as there is none of the apparent one-upmanship you see on TV on the likes of Mock the week. I can't imagine a more cheerful way to spend two hours than to listen to this but I would hazard against listening in public as I got some awfully funny looks when I burst out laughing on the train, something that happens rather frequently when listening to these programmes.

Humph!,

I am so glad the BBC still have a backlog of broadcasts with Humphrey Littleton in the chair, the new series with Jack Dee is good don't get me wrong, but from the start "you composer is Colin Sell and your Chairman is Humphrey Littleton..." just gets you in the mood for mirth. Hump always had the knack of delivering the lines seemingly blissfully unaware of the double entendres, though sometimes they were single entendres if there are such things. Between new series there is nothing better than putting one of these CD's in and having a good old chuckle. Keep them coming Auntie Beeb!
