This is a fascinating book. When I read it (aged about 14), I had never heard of Zora Neale Hurston or her work. However, I still really enjoyed the book - it tells a very interesting story which is worth reading in its own right. Certain scenes are still very vivid in my memory; for example, the chapter about Hurston's studies into zombies. I think most people would find this book well worth reading, but I suppose I would especially recommend it for girls and for anyone with an interest in folklore.
