I'm a runner who regularly does 35-50 miles per week. I overpronate moderately on both legs though slightly more on the right. I had previously tried a number of different off-the-shelf solutions, with varying results, before I eventually decided I needed a custom-fit solution. I only really bought these insoles to keep me going while my custom made insoles were being re-furbished (takes 2 weeks) because I didn't want to take a break and couldn't run without some support and they were reasonably cheap. Obviously I didn't expect them to be as good as my custom pair and I was proven right. They provide decent shock absorption both at the heel and forefoot and reasonable control of pronation but don't go thinking they can substitute for custom made insoles, because they can't - however you can say the same thing about all off-the-shelf insoles - and as such they proved to be slightly above the average - not great but not bad. I can only speak from a runner's perspective but I would say that if you require orthotics and can't afford an expensive custom pair, then these aren't a bad option at the price, though if I were in that situation myself, I would go for Dr Foot's runner insoles, which I found to be more comfortable, less bulky and a lot lighter, therefore better for runners like me.
