This book is a supplement to the excellent reference guide, " The Sopranos on the Couch - The Ultimate Guide". That guide covers the Sopranos episodes through seasons 1-6 of the show but it has been well documneted by now that HBO decided to make season 6 an extra long season and hold over the final 8 eventually becoming 9 episodes so that by the authors own admisson this present supplement is more a "Season 6 Part 2 Guide" that a season 7 guide.
However, moving on to the book its self, these last nine episodes are covered by the author in the same loving detail he has given to every other episode of the hit show. The Sopranos is a deep show and its themes, metaphors, subtle detail and parallels may often be confusing to the average or casual viewer. Maurice Yacowar makes clear, through concise easy to read language what each episode is dealing with under all the crowd pleasing scenes of "Whackings" and dirty dealings of Tony's underworld.
In short, this man knows his stuff and this book along with, "The Ultimate Guide", really are, in my view, the definitive guides to David Chase's classic crime drama.
