Good, solid textbook
on 21 March 2011
This texbook is absolute perfect for those wish to study a popular play, but who have no real knowledge of Greek or even of theatre.
It has an excellent translation that has no pretentions. Easily understood and capable therefore of being used in a school or university production. It has a page of dialogue, opposite which there is a page of narrative explaining character, even obscure or difficult text. It also fills in background details. Small chapters on the history of greek Theatre and pronunciation guides are very useful.
In view of the fact that the book is, in my opinion very cheap, everyone with even a passing interest in the subject ought to acquire this text. Simply indispensible.
