Opted to buy this Cherry Pop reissue after hesitation due to vinyl sourcing issues on their reissue of Visage's "The Anvil", but am very glad I did buy this version in the end! Owning the US CDA just showed how well the original UK track-order worked (tracks were jiggled around on the US version, resulting in some messy interludes and acapella cross-overs). This reissue is generally excellent sound quality and also adds most of the 12" mixes/b-sides you'd want. There will always be a few omissions, and the compiler does add a footnote explaining why some were dropped, mainly due to this being a single disc reissue. Whilst I think fans would've wanted all the extended versions and megamixes put on a second disc (the album and 2 b-sides kept on disc 1) commercially this probably wasn't viable due to likely sales. Sadly "Give It To Me" is excluded due to BBC rights, and it would've been great to include the rarer second Extended Dance Remix of "What I Want" somehow, but overall this is a great compilation. Comprehensive notes about the band's history (and future) and sleeve images make this a worthwhile addition to any Burns fan's collection (even if you have the US version already). 5 stars!

original. 1 May 2008

OK! i am reviewing here the original album which came with 10 tracks, which was mighty fine, when it finally got a release after Thats The Way reached Top 20, as weird as Pete Burns is, in my humble opinion he has not made a dull album too date. The beats are totally mind boggling at times and leave fans gasping for more. The best track here by a mile is Misty Circles, closely followed by Wish You Were Here, and Sit On It (which says it all :)), you'd be forgiven near the end of this cd if you think you are listening to Morrissey, because Far Too Hard, sounds just like The Smiths, a really good album, most worth checking out.

As pete burns wrote after 5 years of trying we finally made it, this cd is first rate return to the high sound of dead or alive. not quite the high N R G sound. However, the extra mixes without the hisses and scratches are great best to date. I look forward for the rest of the albums to re-released. good old day's are here again sprinkled with glitter.... not dust
