Book Description

We catch up with Sophie, Gidaado the Fourth and Chobbal, the albino camel, in Stephen Davies's latest African adventure, complete with locusts, dancing flowers and the 404th Oudalan Province Camel Race.

Product Description

Sophie and Gidaado are back and this time the enemy is more dangerous than camel thief Moussa ag Litni. Locusts with their crop-devouring mandibles threaten the livelihood of the entire Oudalan Province. Gidaado is forced to become a crier announcing local news and the descriptions of missing cows. With Sophie's help, Gidaado's announcements become great hits! Who could resist Gidaado's crooning "Has anybody seen my Skinny Legs?"

From the Back Cover

Watch out! The LOCUSTS are COMING . . . A terrifying army of locusts is making its way along the edge of the Sahara desert, devastating crops in one village after another. Gidaado's village is next. When the locusts arrive Gidaado will need all his wits about him in order to survive. He will need his friend Sophie. He will need his three-stringed guitar. And he will need an albino camel as fast as the harmattan wind . . . Another African adventure with the stars of the first book in the series: 'An exceptional short novel' Times Educational Supplement
