I love the subtle humour and all the social observation in there, it feels really current. Loads of books have characters that like certain kinds of music or books, but what's different here is that the main guy, Mark, actually plucks out real phrases that have had an impact on him, so that you actually see him trying to figure things out and trying to answer questions about his own life and his friend's suicide. Something else that I like is how it looks at ways of trying to help people avoid suicide, quite a tricky subject, but dealt with care and skill here.

I read it after a recommendation by a friend, always the best way, and I have to say that it is, as the expert, Joe Moran, says on the cover, `gripping', in fact I think it's brilliant.

It's actually both a sad and really uplifting story. Quite a combination. I keep picking it back up again and re-reading parts and I don't normally do that. Definitely worth a read in my estimation.

I expected to enjoy this book from the other reviews here, but I was completely amazed at my own enthusiastic reaction to it. Insightful and uplifting - even educational - it is a book that reveals contemporary London in a different light.
