My daughter was 20 months old when I bought this DVD. At the time, she was experiencing problems with language development due to bilingualism. This DVD worked wonders for her. I had never seen her concentrate on anything more than 10 minutes before she was introduced to this amazing product. She was almost entranced when I put it on. She soon started repeating all the words, and after a while internalised them.
Sookie and Finn is great in the sense that it touches on children's everyday activities, and I could clearly see that this aspect of the DVD was very instrumental in my daughter's learning progress. The choice of songs is excellent as well as the timing of the songs. The songs are so timely inserted in between storylines that they act as exercise of directing the focus of attention. In addition, repetitions used are very effective and manage not to be boring.
The parental guides and development charts included in the DVD are a great help to parents.
I sincerely recommend this DVD to anyone who is worried about their child's delayed language skills. It certainly fills a big gap in the market.

This has been a great DVD for us to entertain and at the same time educate our children without them being exposed to violence on TV. From the moment my 2 year old daughter saw this, she does not want to watch anything else. What really struck me was that it not only had a very educational content but also delivered it in a very fun way.
I've been looking for something like this for a very long time and strongly recommend it.

I am happy to say that I am making good use of the Sookie & Finn DVDs with a range of children aged between 3 - 5 (and their siblings). The format is very good as the graphics are clear and entertaining but simple enough for young children to appreciate. The sequencing of ideas is very appealing as it reflects a young child's experiences. They love the humour and antics of Sookie and Finn that cause much amusement. As a therapist, I really appreciate the presentation of vocabulary and two word phrases: the timing is excellent, giving opportunity for therapist or parent to repeat and reinforce.
