4.0 out of 5 stars Great game! 28 Mar 2014
Edition:Standard Edition
This was one I wasn't sure about but decided to buy it because of the hype. I have to say i thoroughly enjoyed this game from start to finish. Gameplay is fun and interesting plus the graphics are second to none. On the bad side i felt it was a little short!
Definite;y worth picking up though if you can.

5.0 out of 5 stars Now you're playing with power! 22 Mar 2014
Edition:Standard Edition|Verified Purchase
Right. Let's keep this brief:

Pros
- This is probably the best looking game available on any console right now.
- The voice acting is top notch and the motion capture is the best I've ever seen.
- Character and power animation is similarly impressive.
- Delsin feels agile and easy to control.
- The power sets are superb and are well explained in game.
- The combat is empowering and requires some actual strategy.
- Seattle is beautifully realised and navigation feels natural. Textures are high-res and the attention to detail is astounding.
- The game never seems to load and there is almost no texture pop-in, which is incredible for an open world game!
- Delsin's enthusiasm for his powers rubs off on the player.
- The karma system adds replay value and, depending on your choices, changes the tone of the game. You'll probably want to play through twice.
- 'Paper Trail' missions are to be added weekly, reportedly providing 5 hours of additional free content.
- The game doesn't take itself too seriously. Its greatest ambition seems to be the pursuit of FUN.

Cons
- At 10 - 16 hours, the game isn't short, but it could be longer.
- There are no actual side quests, only 'side content', which often requires players to collect, destroy or spray paint things and is pretty uninspired (I'm not counting the 'Paper Trail' missions as they are not on-disc).
- Delsin's quips can be a little arrogant/cheesy, which might be off putting to some people.
- The karma system doesn't even hint at a full moral spectrum (a-la Mass Effect/Witcher 2), only allowing players to be fully good or fully bad.
- The frame rate occasionally falters, though this is rare.
- The lack of a day/night cycle is disappointing.

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
Good, looks fantastic, but not really doing anything gameplay wise that previous infamous games haven't done. If you're an infamous fan that loved the previous games, great. If they didn't set your world on fire, neither will this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Graphics and Decent Storyline 8 April 2014
Edition:Standard Edition|Verified Purchase
Bit short though. I got platinum trophy in 2 days and this is from someone who rarely bothers with trophies. 6 plat trophies in 10 years says it all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun. So much fun. 24 Mar 2014
Edition:Standard Edition|Verified Purchase
This being my first Infamous game I didn't know what to expect. Having read the reviews, it everyone was saying that it was just the same as previous instalments, giving it lower scores because of this). Personally, I don't care if there were 50 of these before. It is awesome. It would be a 4 stars but it is just so much fun I think it deserves the full 5.

--Story--
There have been mixed reviews for the story. Story is pretty standard, stop bad guy, save your friends, happy ever after. There are a couple of twists and turns but nothing drastic, its a decent story. Normally when I play open world games I explore a lot in between missions but I kept going back to the game missions, which is surely a good sign. Characters are interesting enough.

The map is exciting. Split into different sectors, you have to defeat the command posts in each sector to take control. The battles are difficult enough, making for a good challenge with what feels like genuine rewards

--Graphics--
Utterly stunning. It is beautiful. A mix of interesting details and unbelievable scale. Stunning

--Gameplay--
This is what sets infamous second son apart. Everything is simple and easy. Running up walls felt effortless and thoroughly invigorating. Combat is fluid, even if the locking system can't quite read your mind. There is a good mix of abilities and the finisher abilities are epic. Only thing I will say is that once you get neon, I rarely went back to smoke. I played this constantly for hours and hours over the weekend and never got bored, hunting out the next squad of DUP (bad guys).

--Overall--
I think this games only crime is coming out after GTA 5. While it may not be perfect in terms of story (its good but not amazing) and the open-world feels like it lacks a bit of life, the pure beautiful fun to be had easily masks over these issues.
