I've just unpacked and tested this Boombox and I'm absolutely delighted with it! I was a little concerned by the negative reviews thus far so I thought I'd better add what I think and improve the ratings for what is a great product at a very good price.
The iPod docking station has been really well designed and appears to fit all types and generations of iPods even my 4th generation touch which it doesn't claim to be compatible with. The iPod plug is deep enough that your device feels safe and sturdy when operating the touch screen and you can adjust it forward and back to make sure it fits your device properly.
The CD player has so far read and played every CD-R that I've thrown at it despite previous reviews.
The sound is really nice and doesn't distort even at maximum volume which is impressively loud. I personally think it sounds fuller and more balanced to have the MEGA BASS on all the time.
The 'Audio In' is a nice feature if you want to play another mp3 player or maybe use it as speakers for your laptop.
Another nice feature is that the remote operates your iPod menus too so you don't need to come and fiddle with the screen up close.
It's also a nice compact size and is very light so if you need it on the move, as I will as a music teacher then it's an ideal piece of kit at what I think is a really good price for a quality product!

Purchased this expecting it to have a lot of base, unfortunately not the case. Surprisingly there is actually no tone control to adjust treble or bass. For a Sony product it is very poor.

All I have to say is that it does not play mp3 CDs. It is a sad joke from Sony...should I have known it earlier I would not have purchased this device.
