Firstly if you are looking into buying these, my advice would be don't bother and instead heed this review's title. I may as well summarise the good points first. The bass on these, providing you try the noise isolation buds, isn't all that bad. I have tried much worse. The cord is in a Y shape style so should last longer than the usual sony neck chain style ones that always break at the point where the wire splits in two. Also, the number of different ear bud combinations that come included is worth mentioning as you get 7 different types/sizes. Finally I guess the in line volume control (doubles as a mic too) is cool even if it didn't work when i tried it (my mp3 player is not an ipod).
However, here come the bad points. Firstly the price. They are not cheap and for the money spent on these there are FAR better ones available. Secondly the sound, which is the obvious selling point. Its just far too tinny, the treble is far too high. I listen to mainly Rock, Metal and acoustic stuff. I can imagine the trebley sound to them giving me a headache after prolonged use. Whether these may benefit from a 'breaking in period' is debatable, the sound quality is not of a good enough quality initially to warrant such a period. Sony do make some seriously good headphones. Unfortunately, the XBA-1iP's are a huge disappointment in my opinion. Again, you would be wise to heed the review title. Thanks for reading!
