Bringing your creativity to life

Make the most of your photos and videos with Picture Motion Browser (PMB). Use the eSATA port to transfer your multimedia at up to five times the speed of a standard USB connection. The files will automatically be stored in the PMB calendar for easy access, then get ready to have some fun. Advanced editing features mean you'll be able to adjust images, add special effects and make them look more professional. You can also create your own movie in three easy steps: just select the images and videos you want to use, choose a theme, and let Picture Motion Browser do the rest. When you're ready to share your creations, just click ‘Create Disc' to automatically save them to DVD or Blu-ray Disc®, which lets you save an extra 50GB on a single removable DVD-sized disc.

Turn on to Media Gallery

One touch of the VAIO button opens the Media Gallery software. It takes you straight to your favourite videos, photos and music, which can be organised by time and event. Intelligent technology means Media Gallery will recommend media stored in your library or on the web, based on your personal preferences. It gives you a truly personal library and helps you discover new music and movies you may like.

Get connected

With Integrated Wireless LAN you're free to get online whenever you want. If you'd rather have a face-to-face chat with faraway friends or family, just power up the built-in Motion Eye webcam, and get together in an instant. The VAIO F Series offers a range of interfaces to work with for link-ups to power, digital camcorders and external drives. Cable-free connection to a range of devices is also possible, with Bluetooth®. Another way of getting connected is by using your VAIO as the central server, linking all your home digital devices. Innovative DLNA technology means you can stream movies, music and photos to your HDTV, no matter where in the home they're located.

Having used this laptop for the past 6 months, I thought of leaving a review for this product. This laptop is really fast - starting from booting up till shutting it down. I simultaneously run eclipse, tomcat 6, Linux on Virtualbox and Maven. And I rarely noticed slowdown in the performance. I was running Virtualbox on an i7 desktop with 4 GB of RAM. The desktop used to crash atleast once in 30 mins. But so far, I haven't found any crashes with any of the software I have on this laptop(I run the same version of Virtualbox and linux on this laptop too). The laptop is stable as far as I have used.

This laptop seamlessly connects with PS3. Its cool to use this keyboard to navigate/type in something on PS3. Bluetooth is good. The builtin camera is fine, since its not HD, its not very good on full screen during video chat.

Coming to Blu ray, this laptop delivers very good picture detail for HD movies. I usually watch bluray on PS3, but I did tested with some movies on this laptop and the picture quality is very good. Anyone who is looking for a laptop that has vivid display with high performance, they won't be disappointed with this product.

I am very happy with this laptop so far, and I think with this configuration I can use this easily for the next 5-6 years for programming as well as for entertainment without the hardware getting out-dated soon. Like other buyers am happy with Amazon's service.

Looking for an 8GB RAM laptop with a Blue-ray recorder for less than £1500 and this one fits the bill beautifully. It was this or the Macbook Pro but when I bought this laptop, the Macbook Pro's best spec is only 4GB Ram and no Blue-Ray recorder.

Used it to watch full HD films and streams. No problems. Doing complex HD video edits with Sony Vegas Move Studio 10 and it works really quickly. Very impressive.

Here we go: I always wanted a top notched Sony, I wasn t too confident about this deal because of the big price gap /£550/, I found it risky! That s why I didn t want to write anything before I check the "monster". And I m happy to say that I did not regret the purchase at all. Quality, works like magic, stable and the specs is just awesome! 8GB DDR3 in a laptop! wooo that s cool!! Delivery went smoothly, packaging was safe. Feeling lucky. I tried every port on the laptop, they are functioning well. Blu ray read/write d been tested:) Game: Operation Flashpoint: Dragon.. was played in HIGH detail mode and the FPS was nice and steady / except smoke/. According to the VGA card provides proper support for powerful multitasking, mind you doesn t support DirectX11. Personally I don t find the cooler loud, most probably because my older one is much louder.
I noticed difference in the battery lifetime comparing with the Manual though. It says 2h50m and I could only squeeze out 1h40m /Internet, music listening/. Doesn t bugging me because I m using it from socket anyway in 95% of the time. All in all, this is a very decent piece, I recommend it :) It s been a pleasure making business with you Guys.

PS: Because Apple was the other contestant in that price range, now I can confidently smile on MBpro. The price just does not correspond with the knowledge. /overpriced/ Well done Sony!

A good spec for a laptop but let down by poor build quality. When 10 months old the dc power socket fell out . Despite 2 year guarantee Sony would not repair under warranty as they said I must have damaged it - which I did not. Cost me over £100 for repair . I would not buy Sony product again. Their loss!
