The lowdown:
When they called this a simulator they werent kidding. The attention to detail is unparalleled in any other PS2 game, with 125 different bikes all of which look and handle exactly like the real thing. Not only that but you can customise your bikes set-up in every way imaginable, even down to the exact way you hold your head while riding. However, although the games career mode is structured like Gran Turismo theres no money to earn or after market parts to buy, with new bikes being won Ridge Racer style. Theres also only a maximum of four bikes in any race, but with 37 courses to play through thats not a problem for the true motorcycle fanatic.
Most exciting moment:
Although you can customise the controls however you want, for the ultimate challenge try turning off all the driving aids and learn to work both the front and back brakes of your motorcycle. Its the only way to get the best times and the most exciting ride.
Since you ask:
The European version of the game includes three new bikes not seen in the U.S. or Japanese versions - the Kawasaki Z1000S1, Z1000R1 RacingModified and GS1000R RacingModified as well as three new music tracks.
The bottom line:
Gran Turismo for motorcycles is the most realistic simulation ever.

A beauty of a bike racer, usual problems.,

I've waited for a bike game to look, feel, sound and handle like this for years and finally it's arrived. For any bike nut this game is for you, realistically detailed bikes to ride and drool over in the replay's of your racing. A nice selection of leather suits, gloves, boots and helmets to customise your rider. For the people that love to tinker with setups this caters for you too as you can alter suspension settings, brake settings, exhaust types and even adjust the gearing to suit. You can even modify how your rider sits and moves on the bike, now thats detailed. If your familiar with the Gran Turismo series then you will recognise the tracks as GT4 has all the same tracks except one Valencia, specially put in there for us bikers to recreate some WSB moments of our own, well thats what i like to think.
Now the not so good points, as with every game in the Gran Turismo series the opponent AI aint so intelligent so most races are easily won. Instead of winning money at the end of a race you get new kit and/or bikes now some people would see that as a good thing but i'd prefer to buy my own bikes and rider kit instead of having my garage filled with tat i dont want especially as you cant get rid of them buy selling or removing, once you got that bike you keep it, it's a minor thing for me you may not care. Last thing is the game could be longer, 20 odd race series, most with 3 to 5 races in the series you select, it is okay but if like me you love playing this game you'll have finished it pretty quickly. So there you go, it's my honest opinion that this game is brilliant and i'm glad to have brought it, definatley not a waste of cash for me and i hope that there will be a new installment which is better and longer with more bikes and tracks, but that will be on the PS3 i should think.

Excellent riding physics.,

Not only does this game feel realistic but the control response makes it an enjoyable dream to play. The scence of Speed is impressive as you rocket through the wind on higher powered bikes. Being on the easy side with four riders a race is a pain but minimising race laps to meet competitive races ideal in arcade mode.
But the riding physics and wind effects are so realistic, riding different bikes in solo in trial time is a thrill here. Topnotch for graphics, speed, sound and ride-ability. A rare experience.

Polyphony Paradise!,

What a great game. Just wow. Polyphony Digital (the creators of the amazing Gran Turismo series) should be proud to present this: it's just as quality as GT itself.
After buying this just over a week ago, I found it easy to get into and warmed up quickly to the controls and the layout. It is very similar to Gran Turismo 4 with the type of graphics and overall feel of the game, which is why people who have played GT4 will have no trouble getting into this. Having said that, it's easy to pick up and play for anyone, whether you've played previous Polyphony games or not! This, I must confess, was my first proper motorbike game, but I'm not regretting making a start with this game... The graphics, sound and physics are as all GT4 fans would come to expect- about as realistic as a PS2 game is going to get! You really do feel like the lucky man in the leathers, zipping round whatever of the 35 (mostly real life) tracks that are on offer- and the first-person view of the dash on each bike is true to life for each of the 125 bikes avaliable. So you can see the action from the classic over-the-shoulder viewpoint, allowing you to see the rider from behind, see all the action through the rider's eyes- the view tilting with his/her head around every corner, or an alternative view from a similar perspective only without the handlebars in view. Changing the rider's gear adds to the personalisation of the game, and what's more: you have to race to unlock more new clothes to really kit out your rider. Not only this, but there is racing gear and street-racing gear to suit most different tastes. The game is sadly quite short and is easily completed in a day's worth of solid play. Fear not those who were dissapointed with Polyphony's Gran Turismo Concept or Gran Turismo 4: Prologue, because this game isn't a poor effort and has had a lot of time put into it- after all, I'm sure you don't expect a Yamaha R1 to handle like a Honda Civic... Polyphony have made this game something special. So for all you bikers wanting a good blast with some challenges for you to unlock lovely bikes and gear, with realism close to life, this is the game for you... look no further!
