5.0 out of 5 stars A great package. Spoilers alert for movie 25 Sept. 2012
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This contains Tekken Tag Tournament HD, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue(a demo for tag 2) and Tekken Blood Vengeance which is a Blu-ray CGI movie.

I got this for Christmas last year and I thought I'd do a review on it.

Tekken Tag Tournament looks great in HD and the best thing is that this version runs at the full 60Hz unlike the old PS2 PAL version which only ran at the slower 50Hz. This means that all the game play and fighting is much faster and is overall more fun. And it has a trophy list. The game of course is still great with 39 characters and some great tag combo possibilities.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue is a simple demo with 4 playable characters(Devil Kazuya, Devil Jin, Ling Xiaoyu and Alisa Bosconovitch). It also features 4 stages, a model viewer and a trophy list of its own. Now that Tag 2 is out this doesn't serve as much purpose but its still good if you're not sure if you want to pay the full price for Tag 2 and are looking for something more affordable. Although this provides you with exclusive outfits from Tekken Blood Vengeance which aren't found in the normal Tag 2.

Blood Vengeance is a good movie that revolves mostly around Alisa, Xiaoyu and the character Kamiya Shin, but also includes an epic 3 way fight between Kazuya, Jin and Heihachi near the end as well as a fight scene between Nina and Anna early on plus you get to see Alisa and Xiaoyu fight at one point.

Overall this is a great affordable package. People have complained about the lack of online play for Tekken Tag HD. What these people have overlooked is that making online for a port of an old PS2 game is very difficult and time consuming as well as very expensive.

4.0 out of 5 stars A New Challenger ! 4 Mar. 2012
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I've been a Tekken fan since the first and the original Tekken Tag was one of our favourites at work for many a happy lunchtime. I was therefore really pleased to see this re-released as we (myself and my daughter) still enjoy the original when I visit her with the old faithful PS2 although I won't be travelling with this until they bring out an even slimmer PS3.

Anyway, back to the review in hand. I was pleasantly surprised to find all three products on one disk.

As mentioned this was/is definitely one of our favourites mainly because of the huge and varied character cast (3 flavours of Jack for a start) and of course the tag feature allowing you to swap characters which adds to the tactical gameplay and fun. This version is very polished and the motion jerkiness has definitely been smoothed out but as with the original, the combos are fairly limited so you can't juggle your opponents as much as in the later Teks. All the different modes are present as well as Tekken Bowl which is unlocked from the start as are all the characters which is a bit of a shame to be honest but no worries. Definitely best enjoyed with friends or fam, those who whinge about "completing it too quickly" miss the whole point of the game.

This is a taster for the autumn release and pretty good it looks too. You only get the Arcade mode (offline) and four characters but "A New Challenger" can jump in by hitting the Start button as usual. The fighting is fast, smooth and very responsive but unfortunately the newly devilled Kazuya and Devil Jin look very similar which makes them an odd selection but if you watch the film, character choice make more sense.

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
If you're already a fan of Tekken, this would be a great buy. Tekken Tag Prolouge and Tournament 2 along with the film Tekken Blood Vengeance. Only downside is no online, other than that, it's a great buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Get this if you're already a Tekken fan 1 Mar. 2012

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
There are plenty of PS1 & PS2 remakes coming out on the PS3, e.g. Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell, Resident Evil, Silent Hill. Tekken Tag Tournament is another in the long list of remakes, and it's been a long time coming as well. I absolutely loved TTT when it first came out, played it to death.

So, what's the deal here for this 'hybrid' package. In a nutshell, you get:
* Tekken Tag Tournament HD, a remake of the original
* Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue, a playable demo of the forthcoming title (inclusive of trophies!)
* Tekken movie (anime)

If you already love Tekken (and particularly loved TTT), then it's a no-brainer - just buy the game already! But if you're not sure, then I'd recommend it if you want to see what all the fuss was about when TTT first came out.

The main features of TTT that set it apart at the time:
* You can tag, which can be used tactically of course
* There's a great selection of fighters
* Tekken Bowl is a great mini-game when you feel like getting away from fighting
* It was the first game where you could counter a counter-attack, so far as I know

Of course, this game is now more than 10 years old - there are far slicker and smoother-looking games. But TTT is great for those of you who grew up with the game, and still have friends who want to play it. There is no online, so you'd better have friends around if you don't want to play by yourself. The story mode is just a series of fights where you have to defeat Unknown (a character, that's her name!) at the very end, quite typical of all fighting games.

Overall, I wouldn't rate this game more than 3 stars because it's obviously nothing new, apart from the TTT2 Prologue demo which gets boring after just 10 minutes. The movie is a nice touch, but the storyline doesn't belong in the Tekken universe. If you pay anything up to about £20, it's money well spent - if you pay more, you'd better be a Tekken fan already!
