I managed to get hold of one of these for a good price and temptation got the better of me again, I just had to give it a try. My initial thought were to play with it, then sell it on however it has now become my 'go to' tablet and is with me all the time. Here is why....

-Solid premium build which looks great in my opinion
-Very very portable, fits into my jacket pocket. Fits into trousers pockets also but it shows and is not ideal.
-Screens are stunning, bright, sharp and detailed
-Its quick, 3G works well and is very fast and battery is good for about 6-7 hours constant use. Battery is also removable so
you can carry a spare! Not many tablets let you do that.
-Despite the black bar splitting the two screens, web browsing, email and most apps will stretch across both screens and work
well.
-Comfortable to hold and use for long periods.
-Camera is superb with a great camera app and bonus functionality such as digital zoom and effects i've not seen before on a -tablet.
-Its unique!!!!
-Sony have committed to getting the latest Android software (ICS 4.0) released on this in Q1 this year.

Not so great:

-Uses a proprietary charger instead of USB! Why???
-Few apps are not compatible with the two screens and only work on the top one. Most annoying so far is Android Market
itself.
-Movies also only play in the top screen.

I must say I am really pleased with this device and will be keeping it for the foreseeable future. Nothing else compares to it at the moment and nothing else is as portable with two 5.5" screens. Would have given 4.5 stars if possible.

The price of this Tablet, no doubt shortly to be discontinued by Sony in the UK (although another version seems imminent in Japan) has been dropping like a stone over the last few weeks - at time of writing in August 2012. The Sony P Tablet was only launched in November in the UK at a list price of £499. Whilst this specific model is a German import it's identical in use to the UK one.

I've been using a tablet computer since the first iPad launched and my main tablet is, and will remain, an iPad 3 - or `new iPad'. However at its current price point I decided to invest in this Android device.

First let's deal with the negatives:
1. This is very much a two-screened device. There's a fairly large frame around each screen, and crucially along the hinges where the two screens meet. While looking at web pages across both screens works fairly well, watching video, or reading an e-book (with the exception of the Sony Reader app) doesn't work too well.
2. Only 4Gb of storage is built in.
3. Ongoing support from Sony might be limited.
4. The inbuilt mono speaker is awful. Some apps seem to get more volume out of it but for many the volume is simply too low to hear sound.
5. The charger is bespoke, and the tablet won't charge through a USB. Additional chargers are expensive and there isn't a recommend charger for use in the car although the power on plug looks fairly standard so it might be possible to track down a car charger with the correct voltage.

But there are a number of advantages with the tablet:
1. It's small and light, about half the weight of an iPad but feels even lighter. Pretty much you can take this tablet anywhere, and going through airport security it can stay in your bag.
2.

Perfect choice. Expensive but it'll be serving me for many years.
Exceptional clarity of the screen; very good speakers; easy access to the point I want to see thanks to the ability to enlarge the screen pointed in.
Keyboard really handy taking into consideration the features like intelligent 'guessing' agent which makes the words taped before they are completely written in on the help area of the screen.
The life time of the battery is just amazing. 7 hours is not a joke.
So, what to write more? I do not know. It is just like my laptop but smaller.
And don't download any software on it. It is to be treated just like heaven.
Without any dirt. So, let it be, and enjoy.
