Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

In Shadow Madness , a mysterious plague, leaving destruction and chaos in its path, has attacked the inhabitants of the world Arkose. It is supposedly incurable and it is up to you to prove otherwise.

Shadow Madness, is an RPG-style game, and opens by placing the player straight into the action. Its story line is a little crude in places and doesn't have the subtleties of plot expansion and character development as displayed in the Final Fantasy games. The in-game graphics display the main characters slightly blocky, although the cut sequences are excellently displayed. The sound track is atmospheric and the sound effects are adequate. Its menu engine is much less complex to use, making battling with enemies easier than other titles in its genre.

However, as a result of the simplicity, there is less depth in learning the battle system and battles may become more of a chore than a challenge. Puzzles are plentiful and aid in the development of the story. Shadow Madness is an admirable attempt by Sony to enter the RPG market and, compared to Final Fantasy VII, it is a good alternative. However, Squaresoft have since released two further Final Fantasy games, which re-enforces its position as the genre leader. -- Alex Leung.

5.0 out of 5 stars a 3 d rpg 15 Mar 2009
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
the problem with the first rpg in 3 d is they are quite ugly and shadow madness is from that generation if you remember final fantasy VII then you know exactly what i mean. but that does not mean it s a bad game
ff7 is actually one of the best ever rpg
well shadow master is much shorter less deep in his scenario but quite entertainning , with good element of rpg stuff like a good team , with a rusty robot with funny dialogues, some nice scene cut even they don t match any scene cut from square (final fantasy) it s a honest rpg who immerge you into a country full of despair and magic

if you are looking for a game where you do not need skill to kill enemies but love shopping and solving mysteries and of course reading lots of dialog then this is the game for you. there is plenty of people to talk to as your six characters fight there way to destroying the darg. you get to like the charictors and laugh with them as they are individually unique like you and me and the wizard charictors have some really dynamic spells which make the fights much more interesting
