The Sony STR-DH100 provides bolder, clearer audio, blasting out 200W of show-stopping sound. It's five audio inputs mean you can mix the music you listen to by varying the source, while the Digital Media port allows you to play back content stored on Bluetooth-enabled devices, iPods and Walkmans (adapter not included).
What's more, the STR-DH100 even lets you select the speaker combination (A/B / A+B) you wish to use.

Terrific product for the money. I wanted to continue to run 2nd pair of speakers in the kitchen and soon discovered that what used to be a common facility is now rare. this amp is very fit for purpose. As I am retired it has been on most days over last 6 months playing either radio,tv,freeview/freesat/Sky,vhs,( yes we still use vhs ) or dvd. The sound is very clear if you leave the bass alone. My hearing is not good now but I have few complaints whilst listening to this Sony Tuner/amp. I have used many amps since the 60s and have had two surround systems in the last 10 years. I was glad to return to the basic sterio sound. Highly recommended

The sound is superb and powerful (100w per channel) with a nice volume knob which I like because it is a very gradual one.
On the negative side, it has several inputs for the various parts of a high-fi to be plugged in at the rear and the way to change from CD player to Cassette player or Radio, etc. is by turning a small knob in the front and each function will show on the display screen, whereas the old sliding or push button was quicker to place when wanting instantly one or other function on.
There are some things it should have had this day and age: DAB tuner, somewhere to plug an mp3 player in the front and, if you also have a Sony CD player like I do, why doesn't the remote change the tracks on the CD player - then I wouldn't have to have two remotes!
It has outputs for two sets of speakers and you can have one or the other pair playing or both at the same time.
It is a big, powerful machine and probably suitable for someone with a large area to play music in or to plug in their home cinema surround sound system.

Received this today {4th Sept 2010} and I must say that this is probably the best value amp on the market. Have ditched my surround sound receiver and have gone back to analogue, and oh boy what a difference. Good solid stereo sound just like it used to be in the good old days, this has everything that you could want including masses of power and a great tuner to boot. The amp allows you to control 2 sets of speakers and has tone controls too. If you listen to more music than DVD's give this a go, for the money you can't go wrong.

Good stuff
Fine amp,I never bought rubbish from Sony.Very good for the price,a little retro but that is ok.Even with cheap speakers its sounds ok.

Perfect standard amplifier
Ideal as a standard amplifier. High quality for the price, no unnecessary functionality, just the basics. No phono is small issue, but I'm not using this amp with my record player.
