Sony STR-DA5400ES AV Receiver

I have to disagree with Mr Bearman as I have the same model and consider it to be five star in every sense. I think he must have just been unlucky with his receiver as mine performs effortlessly taking in its stride everything I put through it. I have a Toshiba HD player, blu-ray player and v+ hd cable box connected up to it leaving me with another 3 HDMI inputs should I need them. It also upscales SD very well. With an intuitive GUI menu, full Dolby True HD/DTS-HD Master audio decoding and a host of other goodies I'm not surprised it received the EISA European Best Product award for 2008-2009.

The muts nuts 7.1Ch Receiver.

A great perfomer of a lot of trades, no wonder it's got awards and it handles everything you can chuck at it and more. I've never had mine trip out, and have had one since they were released.
If your'e thinking of buying this then you will need to invest in some good speakers all 8 of them to show the full potential of this unit.

There are some other reputable places on the internet selling these at just under £1400 brand new and with free delivery.

My 2nd review for the Sony DA5400ES receiver. This is my third purchase first receiver tripped out and could not be reset.The second receiver (early model) refused to accept input from my excellent Sony XA5400ES CD/SACD player with HDMI although it would from other brands ? .The third one latest delivery ( August 09)is fine it sounds excellent with low jitter H.A.T.S. ON. However take note there is NO Customer support whatever from SONY, but of course retailers refund defective machines.
