The United States is being invaded by the evil Chimera hordes, and only you can stop them. Set in an alternate universe in which World War II was cut short by an alien invasion, this exclusive PLAYSTATION 3 first-person shooter sees the battle moving in the 1950s from the recently liberated UK to a human resistance base in Iceland and finally onto America.
Californian developer Insomniac created the first three Spyro the Dragon games on the PSone and the Ratchet & Clank series on PS2 and PS3. Resistance 2 is the latest shooter following Disruptor and Resistance 1 from the studio.

Although the single-player story mode features much more variety than the original, with many new weapons and Godzilla-sized enemy bosses, the game’s real appeal has always been the multiplayer. There’s now a whole separate story mode to play co-operatively with friends, either in split screen mode or with up to seven people online.
There were some complaints that the original played the first-person shooter formula a little too safe, but the unique new 60-person online versus mode should help to silence most critics for this sequel.
Key Features- Co-operative carnage: Join the battle with friends in an 8-player online co-operative story campaign.
- It takes two: Weapons can be used in pairs, including the new “Marksman” semi-automatic rifle, a .44 Magnum revolver, and a chaingun that can double as a sentry gun.
- Know your enemy:Fight more than a dozen new enemies in the Chimera horde, including the invisible Chameleon and underwater Fury creatures.
- Massively multiplayer: Up to 60 people can play online in giant-sized battles in which gamers will be organized into smaller sqauds to focus on specific tasks to win the overall battle.
- Team rewards: Do well in the multiplayer and earn battle points to boost your soldier’s strength, gain score multipliers, and acquire personal shields and other special bonus items.

Excellent, leap ahead of original,

This year Incomniac have taken the concept of Fall of Man and completly revised the game into something brilliant. The original was an ok game, it lacked much atmosphere and the game felt rushed in places. However the much anticipated sequel is better in everyway. You get bigger maps, bigger enemies, bigger multiplayer, and a lot better graphics. No more do you have a silent Hale with the use of a Narrator, and gone is the 1950s England. For Resistance 2 Nathan Hale has a voice, and this time he is in classic 1950s America. This game feels like the original was simply buildup for the sequel. Yes the campaign mode may not be the best on offer, but this is made up by the extensive co-op and 60 man multiplayer.
If you want an excellent shooter, or you just want a game that you can have a lot of fun with, then Resistance 2 should not disappoint. And you do not need any knowledge of the original to play this game!

Resistance was a suprising succes, Resistance 2 beginns exactly were the first game ends.The graphic looks very cool the blur and depth of field effects are pushing it to an unexpected high level. Also the character models are very detailed, I was suprised about how much better everything looked. The gameplay is typical FPS, with cool bossfights (a bit too short sometimes). This game don't have to hide behind a COD, it's the best shooter on PS3 actually, maybe Killzone 2 can change this... I played the first Resistance with my friend in Coop so i was a bit disappointed about not being able to play the story with him this time, but the new Coop mode is cool too. You can play an extra 6 hours game experience here with friends or over Internet. At last there is the Online mode, and here you can play with or against 59 other player and its very well done. So I am looking foward for the 3rd... RESISTANCE rocks !

i bought the first game in this series and loved it, not really for the combat(that was a bit soggy) but the gripping and interesting campaign, when you never know whats going to happen, i loved the story so much, that i bought the sequal, expecting to plo to be as gripping but with improved gameplay... how wrong i was... there was nothing behind anything you did, it was just do this do that, with no real drive or acomplishment at the end.and they have gotten rid of the feature letting you use every gun in the game, so basically they just sucked all the fun out of FOM set it in america, a gave it slightly better graphcs and a plot as eventless as a spoon meuseum in swindon
