Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

PlayStation 3 brings advanced next-generation technology to home console hardware, realised through the combination of Cell and RSX processors.

With the Giga-bit Ethernet and a pre-installed 80GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) as standard in PS3, PlayStation 3 gamers will be able to download a variety of contents as well as access on-line games and services over the Playstation Network.

Equipped with basic input/output ports, PlayStation 3 supports a broad range of displays from conventional NTSC/PAL standard TVs to the latest full HD (1080i/1080p) flat panel displays, offering PS3 owners the joy of the most advanced computer home entertainment content with the new DualShock 3 Controller as standard. For use in living rooms, maximum heat and noise reduction has been achieved with a noise level equivalent to that of the current slim-line PlayStation 2.

With the overwhelming computational power of the Cell processor, PlayStation 3 is capable of playing back content from Blu-ray (BD) disc at a bit rate of multiplex 48Mbps with ease, the maximum bit rate defined in BD standards.

Played the demo of this game, and it's VERY good. Think GTA IV meets Marvel Comics...

The game is getting hot reviews, (90%+), and the PS3 well, it's a PS3, it's a awesome bit of kit, and incredible value for money when you take into account all the things it can do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sucker Punch created my personal System Seller 5 Mar 2010

I usually play on "the other big console", but that title was like a systemseller for me.
I'm sure you all know what a PS3 is, and I bouhgt mine already knowing there would be a slim model lurking around the corner. A month later, it came out.
Did I feel betrayed or angry for not waiting another month? Definitely not.
Sucker Punch Productions released this little masterpiece after successfully experiencing gamemechanics in the Sly Raccoon Series, back in PS2 times. Not that PS2 times are over yet...
Here you have a little biker courier, delivering a package and curiously enough, destroing a city while doing so. Or did he not? It's a sandbox game, so except some pretty far walking distances and the typical "where am I and where shall I go" feelings. Your mission is clear: clean up the mess, get rid of the riots around the city, listen to what some people tell you on your phone and clear all objectives. Your weapon of choice is not the usual shooting gear, but your explosiontriggered ability to shoot lightning from your fingers. Wanna feel like Darth Vador while doing parcour? Thats your game. The AI is not so much of a thrill, but some scenes are so full of enemies to remain challanging. Moral choices will make you shoot red or blue lightning and let you appear on different posters around the city, but that's not so much my stuff. I adore the feeling of a huge playground in 3 dimensions where you can run on phone lines, train rails, jump from the tallest building and occasionally, while landing, blow deep holes in the ground. Title not to miss in 2009, title not to forget in 2010.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! 25 Aug 2009

A truly stunning piece of kit. Switched it on, it automatically detected my wifi network, entered the key and then it found my NAS storage device with all my music/video and photo stored on it. Now I can easily listen to music via the unexpected feature.
The Infamous game is good to play, though as usual I have got ~60% through it and find it to have got impossible...not being a 16yr old I get this with games a lot...sign of old age I guess!!
Vidually the PS3 is a treat, and with the new games coming out it just gets better & better, Call of Duty 4 is the 5* killer game for the PS3

Go know you want to!!

A Kid's Review
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I have heard a few people say this was not a great console because of stupid reasons. Like it only has two USB plugs, to be honest do you need any more? secondly i did research and found this out before hand and i have never used two at a time. Another thing is the graphics are incredible far better than the WII or the Xbox 360, and so is the gameplay.

Allot of people will say that the online gameplay is not as good as Live but, its free and i disagree the amount that Live does better than the PS3 is very little in fact i am yet to notice anything at all.

The build quality of this stunning machine is great, far better than the Xbox which my friend has and has taken back twice. Finally the amount of Apps and demos you can download from the online store will keep you entertained for hours.

I am so impressed i would never change now i have my beloved PS3. This is a must buy!!!!!
