I usually play on "the other big console", but that title was like a systemseller for me.
I'm sure you all know what a PS3 is, and I bouhgt mine already knowing there would be a slim model lurking around the corner. A month later, it came out.
Did I feel betrayed or angry for not waiting another month? Definitely not.
Sucker Punch Productions released this little masterpiece after successfully experiencing gamemechanics in the Sly Raccoon Series, back in PS2 times. Not that PS2 times are over yet...
Here you have a little biker courier, delivering a package and curiously enough, destroing a city while doing so. Or did he not? It's a sandbox game, so except some pretty far walking distances and the typical "where am I and where shall I go" feelings. Your mission is clear: clean up the mess, get rid of the riots around the city, listen to what some people tell you on your phone and clear all objectives. Your weapon of choice is not the usual shooting gear, but your explosiontriggered ability to shoot lightning from your fingers. Wanna feel like Darth Vador while doing parcour? Thats your game. The AI is not so much of a thrill, but some scenes are so full of enemies to remain challanging. Moral choices will make you shoot red or blue lightning and let you appear on different posters around the city, but that's not so much my stuff. I adore the feeling of a huge playground in 3 dimensions where you can run on phone lines, train rails, jump from the tallest building and occasionally, while landing, blow deep holes in the ground. Title not to miss in 2009, title not to forget in 2010.
